This morning Shaun and Garry set off on a walk to circular pool, 3 ways look out and Dayles gorge. Took some amazing photos, kid free so they had a great time.
Kylie and I hung at camp for the morning. The kids were keen to do their park ranger activity books so they could get their badges. Kylie got started on a stew for tea.
After lunch the guys returned so we got ready to go for a walk and swim.
First though we took the kids down to get their junior National Park Ranger badges. They were all very excited. Sean was lucky enough to score a badge too without doing the activities that Ben had to do.
We went to circular pool lookout first so that Kylie, the kids and myself could have a look.
Then we went down a heap of steps into Fortescue Falls then further along into Fern pool. Breathtakingly beautiful. A nice decking down into a beautiful deep blue water with water flowing into it off a rock face. You could walk up under the waterfall. The boys jumped in with the kids whilst kylie and I had the little ones. It was too cold for Sean. Ben loved jumping into the water but wasn't keen to hang around swimming in the water as there was a heap of little fish. After the big boys did their swim over to to the waterfall it was Kylie and my turn.
I thought I'd show the boys up and run into the water with a big canon ball, such fun! Kylie was a bit more graceful and dived in. Geez it was bloody cold but so refreshing. Definitely made you feel alive. It was so nice to relax and swim over to the waterfall. The rocks were very slimy and slippery. I had on reef shoes but still slipped from off the rocks. Just had time to try and get my head to the water as was worried I'd hit my head on the rocks. All good just wasn't keen to climb back up again. A lovely old couple came over to see if I was ok. Such a lovely spot and a great arvo. Just wished we'd carted the wine and nibbles in there.
We got back to camp around 5 and were straight into Kylie's stew which went down a treat!
All the kids were in bed by 6.30 yay!
I went over to the campers next door to get some tips on what to do and what not to do on the Gibb River road. Thought I'd be 5 mins, but a nice glass of red and a good hour later I had received great advice :)
We started to pack a few things up to get ready for an early leave in the morning.
