Yay we are back in WA!
Pulled up at the border and got some photos. Then we had to back track a bit as Shaun and Gaz wanted to go and hunt some camels with their bows. The camels got spooked and took off so they missed out. Then it was déjà vue as we passed the border again :)
We drove into Kiwirrkurra to fuel up, well what an adventure. Drove around town looking for the fuel which was a bit of a mission to find. We had driven past the general store that was all shut up, and the town was fairly deserted. We ended up having lunch whilst we figured out if we had enough diesel to get to the next stop. Gaz and I went for a walk around and asked some locals we found sitting under a tree what time the store opened. We thought we had to wait another 2 hours for it to open so started using our Jerry cans. Then thankfully the store owners drove past and opened up. They ran on NT time even though they're in WA as you do. Should have seen the people come out of the woodwork for the store opening obviously the highlight of the day.
I took Sean for a walk to the store and he was up for a chat with the locals gathered. One lady couldn't stop giggling at Sean, she may have been high I'm guessing. There were a lot of dogs hanging around too.
We got some photos of Len Beadell's burnt out truck and hit the dirt again.
We wanted to pull up for camp by 4 tonight so that its not so busy. Kids went and collected all the firewood, they did a great job. Had a nice night around the camp fire and was heaps better pulling up early!! Got to enjoy a beer too.
