We had made sangas for breakfast to eat in the car so that we could do the walk before the heat again. We got there on 7 which is when the gates open to Emma Gorge. It was an hour walk in with some rocks to climb over so the boys loved the walk. Don't know how Gaz does it lugging Zane in the back pack. Must be fairly comfy for bub though as he always ends up asleep in it. The walk in was lovely but Emma Gorge itself was just beautiful. A slight amount of water trekking down the waterfall but a stunning crystal clear pool at the bottom. It was quiet cool and lovely in the water and one of the benefits of doing the trip at this time of the year as otherwise it would be too cold to swim. Zane loved splashing about and Sean was happy to hang with me for a while. Where as Ben was off exploring and he swam to the other side with Shaun and Caleb. We swam and kicked back for an hour or so and then had a bit of a picnic before heading back.
Poor Kylie had gotten a migraine so she rested up whilst the rest of us went to the El Questro Steakhouse for lunch. It was nice sitting outside on the verandah over looking the river and rock pools. A very yummy lunch topped off with a swim out the front when we finished.
Then the guys took all the kids 4WD for the afternoon. They did the Saddleback Ridge track which was steep and sharp switchbacks, and Explosion Gorge which had awesome views! Gaz said all the kids were asleep by then.
I had to muck around with good ole technology. Had to download the Gopro and stupid me didn't bring a spare camera card so had to do a download. Computer is full and has a virus so that was a challenge.
Kylie prepared a yummy lamb shanks dinner in the camp oven. Our first one of the trip!
Zane didn't sleep well that night as he isn't 100%. It was nice to cuddle up and sleep him with us.
