We set off early from Barn Hill so that we could get our fridge looked at in Broome. They couldn't fault it????
Met up with the Brady's at the Cable Beach caravan park for check in. Had an awesome kick back day of swimming at the beautiful pool and catching up on some washing.
The next day the kids woke super early so we thought we'd head down to Cable Beach for a walk. Then we decided to go to cable beach club for a big buffet style breakfast. Was very yummy, the kids loved their pancakes.
After that it was in to Chinatown for a bit of a look around and some pearl browsing. We had a nice lunch at the Roey washed down with a few yummy drinks. More swimming and more red emperor for tea :)
Next day it was Kylie and my turn to be kid free to do the grocery shop. We thought we'd steal an hour of time to get our toenails done. Thanks kylie for shouting me for my bday!!!! In the arvo we took the kids to Malcolm Douglas Crocodile Park. Kids loved the crocs, dingos, snakes, Roos and emus. Was a great arvo.
Our main expensive bloody camera has decided to pack it in so I'm a little bit upset about that. Perfect timing :(
Have sent that off to Sydney thankfully we had a replacement warranty on it but that doesn't help us much for the trip.
Another day we went for lunch at the Matso's brewery. Wow did the chilli beer have a kick it in. The guys got a paddle each with 5 tastings on it. We had a nice bread, dips and lunch.
The next day the main event of the day was going for a camel ride along cable beach. I had Sean in the saddle with me and Ben in the front saddle. Gaz had Zane and they had their own camel. In front of us was Caleb, Indi and Kylie. Ben was a bit scared on the get up and when we first started walking but then he loved it. Was great fun.
Yesterday we went to the Broome markets which were great. Got some lovely jewellery, already wishing I had got more :) Then after that we went to the Zeebar to watch the AFL grand final. We had booked a table and got right at the front of the TV right in front of the open doors with the nice sea breeze coming in....good score. Gaz got a corona bucket package that came with some hats and a tasting platter of ribs, barramundi croquettes, risotto balls, olives, bread and dip. I got a bottle of wine and we were all set for the footy. Kids were good Ben watched a fair bit of the game but they also busied themselves with coloring in and their leapstars. Was a great arvo I ended up on a second bottle of wine. I was going for the hawks and gaz for freo :)
It was time to freshen up and get ready to go out for dinner for Kylie's bday. Was nice to dress up and wear my new clothes and jewellery and probably our last chance of niceness on the trip. We made it to Zander's in time for a nice sunset over cable beach. Ordered a cookie and cream cocktail which were very yummy. Poor Zane was tired and we were too late feeding him his veggies so he didn't want a bar of them, and then to top it off we had lost his dummy. I had to walk back to the caravan park which was a pain in the arse. And unfortunately my first meal of the trip that wasn't that good. But hey the cocktails were good.
Today is Kylie's bday and we are on our way to Middle lagoon, half way up to Cape Leveque.
