Up before the sun this morning, went for a walk see if we could get a rabbit, Ellie was pretty keen, didn't see any though saw where they'd been.
Drove down to the beach and used their toilets, it is a really beautiful beach.
Then drove around to Hopetoun, an amazing place full of new developments and homes, many looked empty, we later learnt that BHP Billiton had built most of them as they had a mine nearby. When they closed the mine the town kind of died. It is getting back on it's feet now as other smaller mines have started. We both had a swim and a cold shower at the beach, it was exhilarating, the nicest spot for a swim.
The drinking water was really good too, so we emptied the terrible Esperance stuff out of the van and refilled. Then had a nice lunch at the cafe.
Then to Ravensthorpe, had a look around, it's hot today - 34c. Then on towards Albany, we'd had enough at a small place called Wellstead. We pulled up behind their sports ground, an old bloke turned up shortly after we'd stopped and had a long chat and offered us a better place to stop.
He told us there are 25 kids in the school, they have 2 teachers, a head master, an admin/librarian and a cleaner/school bus driver. They used to have 75 kids but since they'd planted all the Bluegums in the area the numbers had dropped off.
There's some kind of dancing at the sports facility but it shouldn't go too late.
