Ellie and I went for a walk around to check out a marina this morning before breakfast. We were quite surprised how good a spot we had pulled up at in the dark last night, very nice right on the water.
Drove out to the old whaling station then back into town. Rose bought some corn and pumpkin at a stall on the roadside.
Spent some time at the museum then a bit of a drive to find a spot to park for lunch. Went through the port area, huge mountains of wood chips ready to go on ships and a ship in loading grain. As we've travelled the countryside there has been acre after acre of Blue Gums, we found it quite interesting how they have gone about the second planting. Basically wind rowing the roots and debris and leaving piled up between the new rows, seems to work.
Had lunch, a kilo of prawns Rose had cooked up last night parked out on the breakwater. Very windy and starting to rain but very pleasant.
Then headed off to Denmark, a nice place, reminded us a bit of Nimbin very much into nature and tourism. Had a look around, Rose did over the op shop and craft shop.
We then drove 20 odd k's west and into a camp ground at Parry Beach for the night, $7.00.
