Thought we’d have a more relaxing day today so didn’t rush too much this morning. Caught up with emails, did some printing to keep us up to date with our crosswords (thanks Chris) and did some washing. The plan today was a day trip to Magnetic Island which we arranged to do with our friends from Airlie Beach. The weather was perfect and our friends kindly picked us up and drove us to the ferry car park before catching the 8:45am ferry. It was about 20 mins to get to Nelly Bay on Magnetic Island and on arrival we followed the walking trail to Arcadia and Alma Bay where we had a swim. The water was lovely and very refreshing. A bit of a sleep in this morning as we didn’t have to be anywhere until 1:00pm. The morning was warm so we sat outside and ate our breakfast. We eventually drove into town and parked near the Townsville Yacht Club where we enjoyed lunch with one of my University Collegues and his wife. Onward to Townsville today after a coffee at the nearby cafe and a walk along the beach. Stopped at the ‘Big Mango’ for a mango sorbet and a photo starting the collection of photos of the caravan at the ‘Big’ things. Hopefully get the Pineapple and Banana on the way home! Our last full day in Bowen and Lisa had a list of things she wanted to do. After eating breakfast in the warm morning sun we donned our lycra and got on our bikes for the ride to the lake.
