More rain during the night and fine in the morning. Could I be just having a recurring dream? Nah! Things were a bit wet outside so I don’t think I’m imagining things! During the night had a burst of rain, but awoke to blue skies and sunshine, making me wonder if I’d dreamt it! Onward then to Yeppoon, stopping a couple of times for morning coffee and lunch (and diesel). Arrived about 3:30 on an unpowered site but with water which was a bonus! As long as the sun keeps shining we’ll be ok for power. Just as I had that thought I noticed dark clouds moving in! The caravan park was nice, had a water park and an outdoor theatre! ...

Awoke to the sound of birdlife which was quite abundant at the lake. The lake level was down quite a bit from normal and there was a lot of Blue/Green Algae. Still the kayaks remain on the roof! If it’s not crocs it’s Blue/Green Algae! We ate breakfast in the warm sun trying to decide on today’s destination. There was a nearby national park but that meant heading north again and we still have a lot of ground to cover to get back to Melbourne on August 31st....

Thought we’d go for a bike ride to the nearby lookout this morning. Not much traffic so Lisa rode on the road, something she is usually reluctant to do! We arrived unscathed at the lookout, which had only recently been opened, and enjoyed the view over the town. Started the long drive home today so got packed up, emptied the loo. (A nice man at a nearby unit gave me a little fold up trolley, still in its packaging, to make it easier for me to wheel the toilet cassette to the dump point). We drove to Collinsville with a couple of rest stops en route and arrived at the Showgrounds free camp at about 3:30pm. Checked out an interesting coal mining museum and a drink at the pub before returning to the van for a home made pizz...
