The plan today was a day trip to Magnetic Island which we arranged to do with our friends from Airlie Beach. The weather was perfect and our friends kindly picked us up and drove us to the ferry car park before catching the 8:45am ferry. It was about 20 mins to get to Nelly Bay on Magnetic Island and on arrival we followed the walking trail to Arcadia and Alma Bay where we had a swim. The water was lovely and very refreshing. We then dried off and caught the bus to Horseshoe Bay (another one!) and found the nearest cafe for morning coffee. After this we took a walk along Horseshoe Bay beach before having lunch at the local pub and catching the bus back to Nelly Bay. We changed buses and took a ride to Picnic Bay via almost every street in Nelly Bay it seemed and returned to the Ferry Terminal in time for the 17:10 ferry back to Townsville.
