It was a perfect day today. Not a cloud in the sky and a day trip to Great Keppel Island booked. We left port at 9:15 for the half hour trip over to the island. We had opted for morning tea, lunch and the glass bottomed boat trip for an extra $45 which seemed good value. The glass bottomed boat trip was sensational with heaps of fish and lovely coral. No sign of rain this morning, waking to another perfect Qld. day! Also had discovered that the last time I filled the caravan’s water tanks and carefully placed the filler cap on the power post next to the van, I’d neglected to refit it. It’s probably still on the post at Cape Palmerston Caravan Park which is unfortunate as we are in Yeppoon! Decided to do a bushwalk today and the track we chose was quite close to our caravan park. (we still took the car however, don’t want to overdo it!) Bluff Point was the walk and it climbed up with a lovely view over Keppel Bay towards North Keppel and Great Keppel Islands. During the night had a burst of rain, but awoke to blue skies and sunshine, making me wonder if I’d dreamt it! Onward then to Yeppoon, stopping a couple of times for morning coffee and lunch (and diesel). Arrived about 3:30 on an unpowered site but with water which was a bonus!
