Our last full day in Bowen and Lisa had a list of things she wanted to do. After eating breakfast in the warm morning sun we donned our lycra and got on our bikes for the ride to the lake. (fortunately for the onlookers, we don’t own any lycra!) We passed a market en route and arrived at the lake a few minutes later. Lots of ducks and various other water birds. Then rode back to the park but I unfortunately had an altercation with the concrete path edge while riding off the path to avoid walkers and then attempting to ride back on. I found myself sliding along the ground using my right knee as a brake. After some bandaging we went on a mural hunt as there were many in Bowen then attended a caravan park raffle draw with live music and sausage sizzle. (who invented that term. What’s wrong with barbeque?) Anyhow, we sat listening to the music and the mc for a while until we felt it wasn’t quite our scene and headed for the peace and quiet of a nearby sheltered beach where we had drinks and nibbles and watched the sun set (again)
