Jerramungup is only 181km from Albany so we only had a short drive to our destination today.

It was a nice drive. We stopped at a place called Wellstead for a short break. The town consisted of a roadhouse and school and a few houses.

The roads repair teams love their witches hats here. They are used to mark wherever it is not safe to move off the tarmac. Often it was where water runoff had undermined the soil. South coast highway was a true country road. Lots of undulating.

Arrived in Albany and found a cafe for morning tea. I was able to have a piece of GF Jaffa torte. Yummmmm!

We then headed out to Torndirrup National Park. Another lovely park with some amazing beaches. Many limestone cliffs. Here we got to stand on a platform out over the rock face so all below us was loud waves hitting against the rock. It was a great experience. Its called The Gap. Also on this man made walkway was the bridge. Lovely to watch the waves breaking under this.

We also walked u to a little lighthouse that has a satillite disc attached. We were looking for whales as people we had just met had seen some from this point.

We then headed down to the whale processing plant museum which only stopped operation in 1976. Carey had a coffee in the cafe while i went for a walk around. He was lucky enough to see 3 whales out in the bay. I was fascinated by the things i saw at the museum. I enjoyed looking round the whaling ship. I walked across a walkway on the ship that I couldn't imagine how the boys would've done it in rough weather. I found it daunting in the wind. Going up and down the stairs was also interesting. Got to wear a captains hat and chat with a volunteer who was a mind of information.

It was then onto the wind farm look out. The turbines here are bigger than what we saw in Esperance. Also go to see another beautiful beach.

Then we went and settled into our room befor heading to The Earl of Spencer for a yummy dinner. The Earl of Spencer is a very old pub which has in its time also been a local store.
