I woke up feeling surprisingly well and sat outside in the sunshine reading until everyone else was up. We tried an hour of schoolwork but it was a complete waste of time as the kids were all far too tired. Nick drove in to town and bought some fresh bread and a hot chicken for lunch and then came home and lit the fire. He had just finished when Greg and Liz arrived with Sammy and Emily. The kids ran around the oval playing while we sat around the fire chatting. Liz and I walked up to a fruit and veg stall just outside the camp and bought all sorts of delicious local produce then we came home and had lunch. The kids had jaffles and then cooked marshmallows in the campfire. Apart from a run in to town for coffee we spent the entire afternoon sitting around the fire - it was magic. The Clynks left around 5 o'clock much to Katharine's distress. Luckily Katie face timed her just at the right moment and managed to cheer her up! Meanwhile, the three other kids had made friends with another family of four who had just arrived and they were busy playing soccer on the oval. Everyone came in as it got dark and had cereal for dinner, as no one was very hungry then the kids all had a very big scrub in the shower, as they were black from head to foot!! By 730 pm they were all in bed fast asleep and Nick and I enjoyed a quiet night in front of Sunday night TV!
