We all had another great night's sleep, although Anna climbed into bed with us at 5 am having dreamt she was being kissed by a giant!! We were in no hurry to pack up as we wanted to avoid the morning traffic so we had a big breakfast and took it very slowly - even so we were on the road by 930 am! Driving through Brisbane was a nightmare with the caravan and the road signs didn't help. We stopped off at a school supply shop in Kedron and we were luckily to get Nick out of there again, as it was enormous and had some awesome resources. We stocked up on textbooks for everyone and then continued through the city taking two toll roads to get us out the other side. We went wrong twice along the way as we were unable to cut across the traffic to take the exits but luckily we were able to correct this quite easily. By the time we reached Tambourine Mountain we were very glad to leave the city behind! We are staying out at Shady Camp in Witheren, on an oval next to a creek. There is no power but generators are allowed at certain times of the day and water is pumped up from the creek for people to use. It seems very peaceful and serene after busy Brisbane even though there are at least another 20 vans here!! We dropped off our van and drove back into Canungra, our closest town about 5 minutes away where we got lunch at the local café. We had to have a couple of cappuccinos each to top up our caffeine levels as we cant use the generator until 5 pm - not sure how well we will cope at this camp!! Nick spent the afternoon playing soccer with the kids and Katharine cooked us all dinner - a recipe she'd seen on TV but she didn't actually like it once it was made!! Our site came with a fire pit so we had toasted marshmallows for dessert and sat around the fire until it got too damp. The kids all had a very quick shower and were in bed by 730 pm. Tonight's threat was cancelling SeaWorld tomorrow so again they were asleep within seconds!!
