Katharine woke up at the crack of dawn needing the toilet and it was too early to let her go by herself so I got up too and went with her. When we got outside the most beautiful sunrise was just beginning so we grabbed the camera and sat on the cliff path to watch it for half an hour. We both tried to go back to sleep when we got back to the van but it was no good so read instead until everyone else was awake. Nick, Katharine and Jonny walked into town to get the papers and then we had a very relaxed morning reading and chilling! Around 1030am we decided to hit the schoolbooks and I made some shortbread while the kids were working in the camp kitchen. They all did really well and by 1230pm we were finished and it was time for lunch. The weather was beautiful so we decided to spend the afternoon at the beach. Nick got the boogie boards down from the top of the car and we walked to Surf Beach where there was a constant swell of great waves to catch. I didn't think I would make it into the water but it was too inviting and surprisingly warm! We came back to the van around 4pm and I made a sticky date pudding while Nick showered the kids in the amenities block. Once it was cooked Nick took the kids to the park and I walked to the lighthouse to get some exercise. I didn't quite make it all the way as it got dark but once I got back to the van Nick had dinner ready - delicious! We sat outside and read until the smaller ones were ready for bed and then Katharine, Nick and I watched a movie. Matty decided this morning that he was too old for bunny and threw him in the bin - "After all, I am seven mum!!" I rescued him (bunny) and put him in my bed just in case and he mysteriously made his way back to Matty's bed at some point in the night!!
