Everyone seemed to sleep in a little bit this morning and by the time we got up the day was overcast and looking like it might rain. We had planned another day on the beach but instead decided to drive up the coast, as the next two days' forecast is much warmer. Nick and Katharine went off to Woollies to buy some food for a picnic and the other three played an imaginary game outside and entertained the neighbours. We left Kiama around 10am and took the Grand Pacific Drive up as far as Coalcliff so that we could see the Sea Cliff Bridge. It was an easy drive detouring through multiple towns and hard to believe we were only 60kms from Sydney when we turned around. We had thought of walking the bridge but it was really busy and the kids were ready for lunch so instead we drove back to Austinmer and parked at the beach. We had our picnic on the sand and then walked to the tidal pool and climbed along the rocks. Next we decided to explore Wollongong, a really vibrant city with a backdrop of the mountains, although it took us a while to find a park around the harbour. We bought a coffee and walked along North Wollongong Beach to the tidal pools and then went and played soccer in the park opposite where the car was parked. A sky diving club was based in the park and as we got there we watched seven tandem sky divers jump out of a plane and land just in front of us. Now the kids want to have a go too!! On the way home we drove through Bombo and saw Cathedral Rocks but didn't stop as the kids had had enough. We got back to the van around 4pm and everyone needed some chill out time. Nick made dinner for tomorrow night and then we took the kids to the park for a run around before dinner. Then it was time for showers, a bit of TV and an early night. Bunny is in the bin again but we will see…..!
