Well we had a great sleep in the little room with the volunteer after of course they had finished doing a mystical Queimada which we had no idea was going to happen until we were woken up by a group of people outside our door ooooing and aaaaing..... We were tucked in our beds so we didn't go out.... Woke this morning ready to walk.... We had an awesome breakfast with fried eggs on toast and omelets cafe and peach juice!! This is an not normal as breakfast in the albergue's usually consist of hard toast and cafe.... So it was a good start to the day! We headed out of Villafranca and for the most part it was a pretty flat day... We planned to walk 17 kms as we had our packs transported to another albergue for the first time..... It felt weird not having them but really nice....we had a cafe con leche and a break in Pradela then a juice and a break in Trabadelo in a little cafe owned by a local man and his wife from the Netherlands.... We had a great chat they were so welcoming.... Off we headed for Vega de Valcarce....FYI.... The cuckoo birds are back..... They taunt me!! We didn't quite make it when I hit the I need food now point so we found a little store with bread and ham and made a quick sandwich... Mom was pretty quiet today other than the odd holding of her breath or big sigh when vehicles ripped past us as we were walking on the road with no sidewalks.... It was another hot one and we were excited to see the signs to our albergue we had picked from the book.... Not as excited when we saw it!! Yikes.... It looked deserted and we were hoping our bags were there! Sure enough they were but the guy advised us he was closed and we had to walk another kilometer....so we walked 18km and that last one felt like forever!! We made it!! Mom was a trooper....I will walk up O Cebreiro tomorrow 700 meters up in 12km and I think mom will take a taxi with our packs.....this municipal albergue is nothing to write home about but it is a bed and I had a hot shower... Laundry done and hung out on the line and it promptly started raining..... Laundry is now hung on anything that something can be hung....and the thunder is a rolling!!! It is gonna be a good storm!! It is still raining and we got soaked going for supper and back.....it is an adventure trying to organize a taxi when you can't speak Spanish..... There are two other ladies going with mom so she will have company until I get there although neither of them speak English!! Well off to sleep to the sound of rain and thunder!
