Well we had a decent sleep....I had a top bunk which is not my favorite but better than mom being up there.... At least this one had side rails!! We found a little place for breakfast and made our way out in the fog....mom may of had a moment of hysterical laughing this morning....I had told her a while ago that my goals were to hike the pyranees and up O'Cebreiro and to see Finnisterre....so she looks at me this morning and says.... Well you have done the two now we can go to Finisterre as long as I am not in Santiago for Christmas!! I looked at her and said it better not take us until Christmas!! Insert mom laughing uncontrollably!!! She meant Easter as it would be hard to find a room!! My guide says to take the road and moms guide said to follow the arrows on a path below the albergue.... So we did and ended up climbing up even higher while it proceeded to pour rain!! Once we reached the peak we had a steep decent into Linares which consisted of a church and an old stone building with a taxi sign on it.... We may of had a moment as we stood in the pouring rain..... Now our guides both said that this stage was pretty much all downhill and even gave warnings to take it easy because more injuries happen going downhill..... So we proceeded up hill to Hospital de la Condesa and found a cafe for our cafe con leche!! Still pouring rain... By this point poncho or not we are wet!! We were warned this section was very wet.... We can see the valleys below as the fog has lifted and it is so green.... Beautiful! Off we went in search of the HIGHEST point of the camino in this province of Galicia, not as high as the Pyranees but close! So much for downhill!! Did I mention it was pouring rain?? We walked along the road for a while then off on a path and about .6 kms from the Alto we looked straight up and there it was.... So straight up we went... I went ahead as I find it easier to climb at a steady pace and mom takes lots of breaks.... I waited for her at the top at a cafe which we went in to and had a snack.... And dry off a bit! Off we went again as the rain had let up so we could try and beat the rain.... So we continued UP the road to Fonfria where mom could see the round thatch roofed bar that she got so sick at the last time she walked.... Funny what places you remember .... We are now tucked into an albergue and laundry is on the go....laundry was a must after the mud and cow dung everywhere!!! We often find ourselves walking through a village and having to stand to the side as a bunch of cows come barreling through leaving cow patties everywhere!! We walked 12 kms and mom is about to lose a toenail.... It is gross and painful looking so will see what we do from here...
