Well our cute little street turned into party all night long until 5am!!! Thank goodness for ear plugs !! Up and at it and on the road by 730.... We have decided we are not going to walk in the afternoon heat so will see how far we get.... Walked out of Logrono 6 km to a beautiful park and lake called Plantano .... The park went on forever and there was a beautiful breeze so we were enjoying it.....there were men lined up along this stone wall fishing.... Apparently power bait and corn mixed together is the way to go around here!! Wonder if the northern trout would be into that.....it was one of those kinda walks where I was.... Oh look is that a lady bug.... Oh look a squirrel.... Oh oh look at the size of that worm....of course taking pics of it all..... We found a cafe in this treed area with a view of the lake and the vineyards in the distance... Cafe and tortilla patate... With a view!!! From there we made our way up to Alto Grajera about 3km up a steep hill through vineyards..... I went ahead and waited in the shady parts for mom.... We found a concrete slab perfect for a sitting break and chilled in the shade looking over the vineyards below .... After a while mom looked at me and said.... We ain't gonna get to Santiago sitting looking at vineyards.....my response.... Mmmmm a glass of wine would be nice right now....then mom... Well we could get to Santiago sitting on a bus ..... Then I looked at mom in all seriousness and said.... Mom... If God didn't want us to take the bus.... There would be no buses.... Just saying!! And off we went walking along a fence full of crosses.... People make crosses out of sticks or wood chips from the lumber yard and kinda weave them through the chain link fence.... Mom put up a few and did her thing..... I put one up as well.....we continued on towards Navarette which was another 4kms .....a nice walk through vineyards and a view of Navarette up on a hill..... There is a big black bull billboard along the way.... Photo opp!! We found some more shade and had a snack.... Sun was getting hot and we decided to find an Albergue and be done for the day.... We are not getting to Santiago fast but we will get there one way or another!! We figured 14 kms was enough for today as we came to the realization that 20 kms in this heat is unrealistic for us.......we found a private albergue they tend to be a couple of euros more a night but totally worth it!! This one still is a room with six bunkbeds but it is nicer and cleaner than the municipal ones....mom is happy as the bunk beds are high so she can sit on her bed and not crack her head....laundry is drying on the line and mom is having a cup of instant coffee and all is well...siesta time..... will find the supermarket after as it is siesta time for everyone around here.... I need a few things and I think we will make supper tonight..... Ran into English barrister who we haven't seen for a few days and beer in the square and more stories of getting arrested after swimming across the Rhine in Cologne pissed as a rat which is apparently illegal!!! Always a good laugh.... He tried to convince us to continue on with the beer.... but we headed on to the grocery store and bought supper to make at the albergue.... More veggies!!! Am sitting in a little square outside our albergue and there are two ladies cracking hazelnuts with hammers and chatting away.... They gave me a couple and they told me what they are called and I told them what we call them.... Was a sweet interaction .....am heading up to bed.... Another beautiful day.... Gnight
