Well not a great nights sleep for me.... Listened to all three people in the next room have baths until midnight!! Wake up call at 0630hrs and down for breakfast....they actually had normal well normal for us bread to toast... Mmmm.... Out the door and we walked to the bus station about 25 minutes.... We always end up standing lost not having a clue what is going on.... Wishing we knew more Spanish because no one speaks English it seems when you need help! A young girl had asked me if I knew which bus to Santiago so I knew she was on her way and she spoke Spanish so we followed her onto the bus....the thing about the bus is you still get to see all the towns on the camino.... Quite often we caught glimpses of peregrinos walking along the road or off in the distance..... Our bus was full of peregrinos so we weren't the only ones!! I was the first to see the spires of the cathedral so I get to be crowned king of our group..... Meet your highness Marty!! We got off the bus and walked the camino in through the porta da camino to the Praza do Obradoira where we walked to the centre of the square and looked in awe at the cathedral....the square full of peregrinos and took a pic of our feet with the final shell of the camino.... I laid in the square and took it all in and took pics....was amazing.... We headed off to the Official Peregrino Office....we had our pilgrims passport stamped.... And off to the information centre to figure out somewhere to stay..... I told the lady I wanted a double room with our own bathroom and wifi..... She sent us on a wild goose chase to 3 star hotels that were full.... We gave up and went back to the information place.... Right next door was a hostel that we walked right past that was even in my guide.... We walked in and asked for what I was looking for and sure enough one room left but on the 4 th floor.... We took it..... It is on the main drag and straight down the street from the cathedral not even 5 minutes!!! Perfect!!! Of course mom thanked St Anthony!!! We settled in then went and got groceries as everything is closed tomorrow.... We went back to the cathedral and they were doing the stations of the cross.... The line up for St James was huge so we decided we will come early in the morning and see St James before Easter Sunday Mass.... We figured it would be a perfect time for intentions to be brought.....we sat on the terrace of our hostel and had supper waiting for the procession dos Irmans....the procession was two hours late but hundreds and hundreds of people waited on the side of the road with us..... When it arrived it was breath taking and the sounds of the drums and trumpets gave me goosebumps.... The swaying of the marching.... The children.... The bright stars in the sky.... The statues they were carrying swaying.... The cross... And so on.... Once it was over we walked to the cathedral and stood in the square and took in the lit up cathedral with sounds of clarinets..... Bag pipes.... Mariachi bands all playing in the streets were serenading us....back to our hotel as it is very late for us! Night

Jose and Mike Wonderful story, Martha are you intending to turn into a personal book??? It would be such an encouragement to others who are thinking of doing this. Especially as it has meant a great time for a mother and daughter to share such a journey XXXX Much Love to your Mum
Lavinia Peregrinas ! Congratulations and well done to you both. You were meant to be in Santiago for Easter. What a privilege. Looking forward to photos from Obradoiro Square.
