Sunday 13th September - Roman Forum

We exited the church and headed off down the lane away from the church and down the worst cobble street that we had walked on, well maybe not the worst but the gaps between the cobbles were wide and deep, came around the corner of a house and there was the back of the Colosseum not more than 100m away. We could see the Palintino and the Arc de Tito and the church at the top of the hill where we had walked a couple of days ago. Wow.

We headed away from the Colosseum and walked down Via Allesandrino and looked at the ruins of Foro di Augusto and Torre del Milizie. There were pictures of what it looked like in the early Ads but it was hard to imagine and such a vast area.
Passed the backside of Victorri Emanuell Monument and turned into del Corso. This is Jannies favourite shopping street and we went into a couple of ladies shops looking for a wedding outfit??
