Sunday 6th September - Lunch is at 1.00pm
We had a long lunch and sat and chatted. It seemed strange to be chugging along at about 12 knots and the water rushing past. There were a couple of other cruise ships passing by during the day and we could see the boot of Italy 24kms off in the distance.
We chatted to Captain Nicholas and asked him exactly where we were on the vast ocean and he told us we were opposite the big bay on the foot of Italy and that we would pass the end of Sicily around midnight.
We had a read and got ready to have a swim at 4.00pm. There was a rock band beating out some songs on deck 11 and the bass was so loud.
We go into the water and it was very refreshing but once out I headed back to our cabin away from the thumping sound of the band.
Paul and I went to see the end of the art auction. It was pretty much the same as the one earlier in the cruise with overpriced works being passed it or sold for ridiculous amounts.
Some of the people on board are rather eccentric and I guess they dress to capture people's attention. Some women have had face jobs and look awful with bulging lips and high cheek bones.
