Wednesday 9th September - Sorrento

We had been to Sorrento in 2005 but did not see anything of the town itself as we went to Pompeii and the Isle of Capri so we booked to take a tour to Sorrento so we could see it this time.

The bus trip took about 1.5 hours and the last part of it was on very narrow winding roads and at times we thought that the next motor scooter was going to end up under the front of the bus. They pass in the most suicidal places and with nothing to spare either.

We got to Sorrento at about 10.00am and we sort out a coffee shop. Four coffees were ordered, 2 double espressos and 2 cappuccinos. Well Paul and Jan got their cappuccinos which were piping hot but nothing for Jane and me. We waited for a bit and then asked where were our espressos - "Oh the machine has broken down and we can't do coffees"!

So Jane and I got up and went across the road to have a coffee there.

After we were all finished we went for a walk down some of the cobbled streets and had a look at the church and the view of the harbour, way down below as we were quite high.

Had to be back in the main square at 12.00 noon to meet up with all of the people that were on the bus for our ride back to Napoli.
