Friday 11th September - Heading home

Upon leaving the piazza where the Pantheon is there were a couple of claps of thunder. Within minutes there were a few big spots of rain so we headed for the Metro.
We didn't get far and the rain was a bit heavier and then a bit heavier still. No umbrella, no raincoats as it was a blue sky day of about 25 deg when we left earlier that day.
We stopped and bought a blue and a pink poncho for €3 each. Within minutes there were hawkers selling umbrellas and ponchos coming from every direction and within a short time there were hundreds of ponchos of every colour walking up the street.

We caught the Metro back to our stop and upon leaving the station and coming up the stairs we were faced with an absolute deluge of water.
We made it home ok and when we went out for dinner the sky was blue and no trace of the rain 2 hours before.
