Happiness Is The Road
Once the hoons had gone to bed it was a quiet night. After brekky we hit the road edging nearer to Perth. It was our intention to get as far as Fremantle. The weather was fine when we left Mandurah but soon after we set out dark clouds gathered and started to unleash their rain upon us. We decided to stop at Rockingham en route and by the time we got here the rain had got much heavier. We parked up on the foreshore and looked at the angry ocean but did manage a short walk between downpours. After this we drove the rest of the way to Fremantle along wet roads and through some very industrial parts of the coastline. I had decided that it would be good to come back to the Fremantle Village Caravan Park as this was the very first place I had stayed at after picking up the camper van. We checked in and were allowed to choose our spot. Luckily the very same spot I had been on back in October was available so we just had to go there. It was great to be back here. We chilled out for a while and by mid afternoon the rain clouds had cleared to be replaced by sun and blue sky. It was absolutely lovely and we went on a walk to the beach which was about half a kilometre behind the caravan park through a new housing estate. We had a mooch along the beach and the coast path for a while before coming back to the camper van to get our tea. We are so lucky to be free of the rat race and be on this amazing adventure.
