nto the gorge we headed and it was great to see our first crocidiles (fresh water) in nature.  They were very relaxed warming themselevs on the banks and cooling in the water.  We did not get to close but saw some people taking selfies with large crocs.  We saw lots of new birds including an Azure Kingfisher, Striated Pardolotte, Rainbow Bee Eater and Yellow Honey Eater.

Tape up the van to stop the dust getting in and off we head along the Gibb River Road. The first part on a sealed road (little bit fancy) then turning off to head into Windjana National Park for three nights. You pick your piece of dirt/grass and try for some shade but the best thing is it has flush toilets, solar showers and fresh water.  Off to Tunnel Creek into dark cave like gorge and water under our feet.  We needed good headlamps to go into the dark.  W...

A very warm day today so off to a Kimberley photography exhibition. Some amazing pictures and we even got to do a public vote for the best picture which each of us chose something different.  Off for a stock up on goodies so we can head off tomorrow to the must do Gibb River Road.

Off to see some sites of Derby.  The prision tree where they kept of course prisioners in the early days as they treked them across the Western Australian outback.  Along with the longest cattle trough in the world and the wetlands (poo ponds etc) to find some bird species for the boys.

Arrived at Derby and then went out to the jetty to have a look at low tide then returned later that day to see the high tide a difference today of 10.79 metres, it can get up to 12 metres, second only to tide magnitudess in Nova Scotia in Canada.
