Our first internet access for nearly a week so we finished off some schoolwork in the morning and then joined many others at high tide for some fishing. Not many fish caught but we had fun and saw stingrays, dolphins and pelicans enjoying the beach with us.

We leave Karijini after a couple of fun days - we're glad we returned to see the gorges. The trip back to the coast seemed to go quickly as termite mounds and road trains flashed by. Lunch at South Hedland and then on to Eighty Mile Beach for a second visit. The caravan park was very busy and we found an unpowered site near the beach. We all enjoyed good showers and a clean up of ther van and car. Today we passed the 20,000 km mark on our trip!

A bit of early schoolwork and then off to Dales Gorge for a walk to Circular Pool and Fortescue Falls. The layered rocks and waterfalls were very colourful following the recent rain which made the trail slippery at times.

We travelled to the western gorges based around Weano Gorge and enjoyed a bushwalk and a view from a number of the lookouts. Recent rains meant the water in the gorges was flowing well but very cold. We drove into Tom Price for lunch and drove to the top of Mt Nameless to become the highest car in WA (for a short time)!

After stocking up on supplies (not easy on a Sunday in Port Hedland!) we head inland and arrive at Dales campground in Karijini National Park. There were many mining vehicles and spectacular scenery on the way. We were too late for showers at the information centre so up went the shower booth on our site to wash off some of the red dust.
