All excited today as we get ready to visit the Bungle Bungles. An early wakeup so we can get there and back in time before dark.  When we finally reach the national park we turn right first visiting Cathedral George and then Piccaniny Creek lookout. After spending quite a while in both of the attractions we head for the airstrip. There we book a 3 person flight [this time dads going to miss out]. After staying at Fitzroy Crossing we decided it was time to move on. Halls Creek was our destination but after stopping for fuel we decided it didn't have much to offer. Quick stop at the visitor centre where we found a statue of 'Russian Jack'. Russian Jack was known for wheeling a sick friend 300km in a wheelborrow to seek medical attention - no roads to follow back in the 1890's! We continued on to find a great little camp spot near the turn off to the Purnulu...

Our last day of school this term before the Victorian school holidays.  A cruise up Giekie Gorge in the afternoon to see some great rocks and more crocodiles.

We left the Gibb to head into Fitzroy Crossing. it was nice to have less dust once we arrived.  Later that evening we joined in on a Trivia Night at the local restaurant.  The four of us were joined by another four Victorians.  Not a bad job we won 4 out of 7 rounds and only lost the whole quiz by two points.  Fraser and I answered all of the 10 Geography questions and got 10 out of 10.

We trekked along the Gibb River through the King Leopold Ranges, then into Bell Gorge.  We walked into a fantastic swimming hole and great waterfall.  It was a little cool in the water but it was the best place we have swam in so far, much better than any of the swimming pools.  We headed back to Windjana Gorge to find some friends we had met in Derby, that live near Port Fairy, setup near us at camp.
