Yes a service for the car and a morning in town browsing at diamonds and having a coffee. After lunch we visited the historic Ivanoe Crossing on the Ord River. Sadly it's no longer a crossing (closed to vehicles) and we weren't keen to walk across! We then visited the sandalwood plantations north of town which have expanded greatly in the past decade as part of the next stage of the Ord River Irrigation Scheme.

We head into Kununurra to restock and prepare for the crossing of the NT border. Mum and Dad returned to the bus stop (yes Dad's a real romantic!) where they were engaged in 2001.

Dad went for an early search around town and returned happy to have found and photographed some elusive Gouldian Finches. We enjoyed lunch at a local cafe before fishing from the jetty (only small catfish and threadfin caught) and then heading up to The Bastion (Five Rivers Lookout) to enjoy the sunset.

A quiet day looking around town and having a swim in the pool. Dad and Fraser visited Parry's Lagoon and spied several new birds including this zitting cisticola. They now have 222 on their list. Today completes the first 6 months of our trip.

A short day travelling north to Western Australia's northern most town - Wyndham. Here we were greeted by a giant crocodile statue in the main street.
