Quokkas everywhere! We caught a ferry to Rottnest Island for the day, and rather than hire bikes (and helmets - yuck) we caught the hop on - hop off shuttle bus around the island, We did a couple of laps of the island and enjoyed the scenery and of course quokkas at every stop. We took our swimming and snorkelling gear with us but it was much cooler and cloudier than forecast so we didn't have a swim. We got back to Fremantle harbour after dark as the rain started. The next few days look like being showery.

Marg S. Thanks for all the descriptions-sounds great.Wonderful rain here,31mm yesterday-very welcome.
Dad Good rain forecast here over the next couple of days which will be most welcome after nearly four months without any decent falls xoxox
Glenys we went all the way around the island and only saw quokka's at the take a way! I'm so glad the native animals have rediscovered their origins!!!!!!
Dad Supposedly 17,000 of them on the island - certainly many more than we remember seeing on previous visits
Wendy wonder why the kids didn't swim a couple of laps around the island
Dad Seems a bit harsh after having them swim from the mainland !!!!
