Day 16- 50 miles- HELLO CALIFORNIA
Brookings to Klamath, Mystic Forest RV Park. Short day but tough climb. Left Brookings about 8am. Crossed into California- took scenic byways but very cold not even 50 degrees! Put another jacket on. Scenic route took us around the coastal drive of Crescent City with head winds and side winds. Finally found a Denny's for second breakfast and to warm up. Undulating hills leaving town, then a long climb into the beautiful Red Woods, had to keep eyes on road and traffic, no shoulders! Then a steep descent to ocean and on to Paul Bunyan and the Trees of Mystery. Shortly after stopped at Mystic Forest RV Park, really nice camp site with wifi and laundry. Still cool in shade even though sunny finally.Office lady gave us an alternate route for tomorrow to get away from 101 and see the majestic Red Woods....we will see!
Beans and wieners for dinner! Another good day.

Warmer weather is upon you which should make the ride that much more enjoyable as there is nothing like riding in the sunshine.
