Victoria Night Market-
This is totally worth a mention. Today I had the day off so went to investigate the University gym… I have made a discovery that it is so cheep, in fact all nest week is free so for all my fellow travellers who read this I highly recommend you use University facilities rather that anything else.
Anyway tonight was the last night that The Victoria Market was hosting the night market so I thought I would check it out with Lesley. It was really really good, totally hidden away like most things in Melbourne though. When we got there all you could smell was food. However stupidly both Leslie and I had made food at home which needed eating ( according to the house rules!) so we just made do with the free samples. There was food from every country I have ever heard of so the choice was vast. In addition there were loads of amazing stalls selling funky indie type things, I could have spent an absolute fortune, but restrained myself. Its awful because I have seen so many things that I would love to buy for people as gifts but its just not practical to post them home.
There was also a music stage where salsa dancing was going on. I would have liked to have had a go but felt a bit of a fool on my own. We then met Daniel and a friend in a bar overlooking the markets which was really nice just o sit and soak up the atmosphere. As I have given up soft drinks for lent, I had to quench my thirst with something else…. Bring on the sangria!
I am sad that last week was the last night market, but I defo will go to the regular Victoria Markets again before leaving Melbourne.
