Today was my first touristy day in ages, and it felt good!!

I moved out of my house aka 23 dorothy avenue! I left a dirty mug out on the sideboard in protest! I cant say I was sad to leave, but I was sad to discover that my backback has become clinically obese and now weighs well over 25kg…. my shoulders are very very soar.So where am I now you may ask…?. Well I am spending 3 nights in and area called Hartwell which is on the Alamein line from the city, and is a really nice suburban area.

Note to self/ anyone else- if you settle in Melbourne nice areas are Fitzroy, St. Kilda, Malvern, Toorak, South Yarra, Richmond, Collingwood, and any suburb on the Alamein line.

Anyway I am currently couch surfing - my first ever couch surf so I was excited. I am staying with Elisa who I actually know more as a friend than as a host which makes the whole experience more like a sleep over than a couch surf. Also staying here are her 2 housemates ( who got to the room before me L ) and two friends from America so it's a pretty full house and I really appreciate her lending me the sofa.

I have just come back from the Melbourne Comedy Festival evening that I arranged. Melbour comedy festival is a huge deal. There are loads of shows going on all day every day, not just stand up but also comedy shows such as puppetry of the penis etc. I arranged for 7 of us to go to the Edinburgh Festa Besta show in the Melbourne Comedy Club on Collins St. The tickets were only $15.00 which was great value and the comedians were really good. It was nice to have an evening out, and I feel satisfied now that I have actually seen something for part of the festival.
