It is ridiculously hot! Today is the second day in a row it has been 45degrees, I didn't even attempt to leave my house until after 3pm. Even then I was late to meet Sophie because the train tracks are all melty.
I am not best impressed with the transport system in Melbourne at the moment 1- because everything is cancelled, 2- because yesterday I was caught on a tram when I had forgotten to validate my ticket. In fairness I had a ticket ( a prepay one) but asI was only going 100m down the road I didn't bother to validate it. Then not 1, not 2, not 3 but 4 officials escorted me off the tram and gave me a right telling off. I will prob get a fine but I am going to protest it because I think that it would have been enough to just remind me to validate the ticket, and I also felt really intimidated by the guards.
Today Sophie and I visited the Melbourne Gaol ( apparently it pronounced JAIL not Gay ol as I had been saying for days.) Because we got there late we missed the last tour, but we were quite happy about that because we got in on a child rate- typical backpacker. It was just like the prison on Shawshank redemption and was really interesting. I learnt all about Ned Kelly who I actually think was a good guy deep down. They do evening ghost tours there which would have been a good laugh, and also you can host events there. I was thinking it would be the coolest place to host a murder mystery party. If I decide to live out here then I will host one and everyone can come over.
After that we tried out luck at winning cheep tickets to see WIKED in the theatre. And on just our second attempt we won J! So we got £15.00 seats in the front row. I ws a bit worried that these would be too close, but it was fab. You were almost in the set and felt like you were in oz. LOVED IT!!!!!!!!
All in all a better day J!
But just to let you know how hot it is out here, I was so hot waiting for the train on the way home that I had to buy icecream at 11.00 to cool me down!
