Today was V festival woooohoooo!
But first i have to make a mention of the cool place my new house mates and I went for dinner last night. It is called Lentil as anything and its a vegan "save the world" institution at the bottom end of Ackland Street St Kilda. Its tiny and full of hippyness but i loved it. The idea is you do not opay for the food but give a donation, then once the cost of the food is covered all moeny goes to local projects. It was great, the food is really nice we had a mixed curry platter between us. Its ingenuis really because i think people actually end up donating more than you would pay at a local restraunt anyway! Howcool
I actually woke up and couldnt believe that it was here already. It does only seem like yesterday we were talking about it back home. into my forth month now crazy!
I met with Carl and Danni ( oz intro) ,Danae who is a friend of a friend from couch surfing, and also my German housemate at flinders street station. We all then went for brunch on Dagrave street again. I am getting into this whole brunch culture its very city sheek i think.
Then we headed off on a train packed full of festivalgoers to Melbourne Show Grounds. I was so impressed with the festival. There were only 4 stages ( 2 main ones) but they themselves were relativly small which was great because it meant you couldactually see the acts without needing the screens. Duffy was amazing as ever, although i have decided that i could probably be one of her backing singers as theydont do very much. The big suprise of the day though was Elbow, aka my new 2nd favourite band. I was expecting a indie sheek group butinstead it was an old guy who looks like the guy of the PG tips advert with the knittedmonkey. But his voice was amazing and sounded just like the album.
We also so Kaiser cheifs who were amazing, and razor light.... i actually had my photo takenwith the razorlight drummers drum stick HOW COOL AM I??? But of course the higltigh was the killers. I have got a totally new level of respect for them as a band. they sounded totally like they do on the album and they are really talented acoustic musicians! Unfortunaly though i couldnt enjoy it full becuase my purse was stolen and i was really upset by the fact someone had been so mean on whatshould have been a great day! Never mind though at least i had my camera.
By the way for my 21st birthday i would like killers tickets :) it was amazing!
Gotlots planned this week so stay tuned...!
