Today I had a Melbourne day and it was sooooooooo much fun! I must warn you granny I am a bit tipsy so my spelling may be worse than normal but I will try and work out how to use spell check!
Idid brunch with Elisa ( couch surfer friend) and some of her girlfriends. Apparently burnch is a very Melbourne thing to do, to me I just liked it because it felt like a scene from sex in the city. We went to a really quirky little avenue just opposite Flinders Street station called Degrave Street. It has a very Diagon Alley ( Harry Potter) / alternative feel to it and is always packed. It was very nice.
Following brunch we hit the wine tasting! Mother you will be proud of me I am now totally a connoisseur. For example I know that pinot gritiot is white and pinot noir in red and if its rose it's a mixture of both! And I picked up cards for the wines I liked so now I can look at a wine list and see if its on there and if it is look really clever when I ask for it! I am so happy I always wanted to do that! The winetasting was part of the Melbourne Food &Wine festival going all month. It was £12.50 for a ticket with unlimited sampling of 70 different wineries each with like 6 wines each…. I actually feel ill talking about wine now so will stop but it was very fun!
Needless to say Elisa, Alex Danea and I are all going to sleep very well tonight…. And may possibly have head aches tomorrow! J
Mum I had a genius thought. I know you gave up drinking alone for lent well I figure that because I am drinking from 12- 5 today ( aka the 22nd March) that means you can too because technically you wont be alone if you drink between these hours due to the time difference. So just so you know the ones I like are…..
Tisdall wines - t range cabernet merlot 2007
Brown Brothers- Zibibbo Rosa
And some form of sparkling chardonne champagne!
So knock yourself out because god wont mind!
