Heading up into the hills from Agia Efimai gives splendid views of the small harbour village, the sea is a mill pond. We pull up along the way to take in and photograph the splendour.
We stop off at a small village called Dafnoudi for breakfast & then head down to Fiskardo along the coast. We were going to stay here but glad that we chose Agia Effimia instead. Don't get me wrong, do visit but for us it was too pretentious. The small harbour front is lined with café/restaurants wanting your custom, full of moored sea vessels of all sizes. We watched a super yacht enter whilst we ate our evening meal. Boutique shops are on offer along cobble streets.
We had thought of hiring a small boat ourselves to discover the bays along the coast but after much discussion and people sharing their experiences on the FB page we decided against it and booked on a trip recommended for the next day.
Before we hit Fiskardo we stopped off for a swim and loved the smallish cove so much we ended up staying most of the day! It was Emplisis Beach. Whitish pebbles with aqua seas and rocks either side lined with trees. We of course snorkelled and read. It was bliss.
Dragging ourselves away around 5 we drove the short distance to Fiskardo, eating our evening meal after booking a boat trip for the next day & travel back to Agia Effimia enjoying the sunset along the way, especially over the Assos peninsular…...which will be our last destination
