Today we visited 2 of the museums with the third being closed. They are sign posted on walls in Fira but best to get an idea of where they are on Google Maps first or other map.

We found it amazing looking at the pottery, ceramics, marble statues and figurines which had been found at Ancient Thira and Akrotiri. The museum which holds the frescoes was a highlight too. These date back to 1500 BC and were preserved by lava. Fira is full of people yet these museums were empty...... People passing them by.

We returned the car after calling at a bakery for lunch on the plane only to find the flight had been delayed 3hrs. After an hour of queuing to check in and suit cases in we left and are now sat at the Appollo arghhhhhhh the rep has just come and told us now ETA is 1905 grrrrrrrrrrrr hours delayed supposed to have taken off at 1405. We get €8 of food and drink each whoop Whoo!! There was almost silence before even though a plane and more load of people now there is much chatter and anger!

So did we take off at 5pm.................no! It is 1745 ETA for our plane landing is 2045. After some pressure. Y a few passengers the Thomson rep who appears to have just been sat inside the Appollo doing nothing was pressured into finding some information, in fact a fellow passenger gave us the information before the rep did! At 1630 the plane had still not left! The rep was forced to make a phone call and said they were just shutting the doors! He said we could have €17 more each.

We have had to arrange for a friend to pick us up as we were catching the train.
