Today we visit Moni Kapsa and a couple of beaches. One we pass by on the road the sea just so aqua blue we had to stop and have a dip called Goudouras. The drive up in the hills is spectacular as we go inland and then back down to Lefki beach on the tip almost of the south east coast. The seas are spectacular and we drive along the track to find ourselves our 'private' little bay.
Pebbles, we like pebbles, small and comfy. We unpack our beach attire. I do not think I have mentioned this in my blogs. We buy now not one but 2 parasols and pack shower curtains. SHOWER CURTAINS you ask?? Well yes! It is a tip I picked up on a couple of years ago off TA. They are cheap, £6 for a cloth one, not plastic. They are waterproof, so great if wet sand, and they are large and light! We even now just lie straight on the curtain and use our beach towels as a pillow. Looking back, it makes no sense to put a towel you want o to dry yourself with, straight onto sand, you then lie on it wet through and saturate it!
We also invested in an insulator bag which we put frozen bottles of water in to keep our picnic and drinks cool. We then have a fresh supply of cold water from our frozen bottles as it melts during the day! Another tip is to wrap large bottles of frozen water in a hand towel, this keeps it cool and frozen longer
I enjoyed the snorkelling here very much. Quite large fish as the water is deeper, fish with the long noses that swim at the top of the water, file fish I think, bright sea plants and crabs.
We head back the fab drive as the sun is setting and eat late (for us) around 9pm.
