We leave Santorini on Sea Jets Consortium Ferry at 1300 for Amorgos, an hours crossing to the port at Katapola. Our host called the bus station to check bus times for us. So caught the 1130 to the Port. €1.80 each for a splendid ride. The ferry was 40 minutes late due to high winds at sea, but an air con waiting room and seats in the shade kept us happy. Russ had called at bakery in the morning and bought us a turkey sandwich for lunch and our new cooler insulated bag kept them chilled with the water. The sea was rather choppy so I took a travel calm which only take 20 minutes to take affect. The sea jet a fast ferry seats inside, comfortable enough for an hour. We had bought tickets day before at a ticket office in Thira €99. We were excited to dock at Katapola on Amorgos and our host from Amorgi Studios was there to greet us. He suggested we call at supermarket and make use of car so we stocked up on water, picnic stuff and eggs and fruit for breakfast. We then returned to Panos car and he took us on the spectacular journey to our rooms. Really pleased with Studios, great views of the bay of Aegiali, spacious and lovely little seating area to enjoy the views. Once settled in we changed and headed to the beach for a swim snorkel and snooze leaving around 6 to get ready for dinner. We took our hosts recommendation and ate locally at Askas with meatballs, pork and oven cooked veg. 1/4 carafe of wine and a Mythos coming to €24. Within an hour the place had gone from 2 tables to almost all full. We nearly never called as didn't even look open! We then strolled into Aegiali for a drink at Falafel a bar on the steps of a narrow side street. This time a Mojita for me and Mythos for Russ. €7.50 and €2.50.
