So week 3 of living in China and what can I say apart from I am loving it although I do miss the family and friends but lets be realistic here....they have no excuse not to come and visit me in Beijing.
Well I have found a driver, he doesn't speak alot of English in fact none, i know more Chinese words than he knows English, however he is taking me up to the Great Wall this weekend and hopefully when I get those visitors he will be taking them to places as well.
Most of my time has been spent trying to get lost and find my way home which I have done successfully every time....I am very proud of this as the only lingo I know is hello, left, right and straight on...could end up in a pickle there though. Mandarin lessons are approaching soon though.
Took myself of to the Olympic Stadium which was covered in snow, the aquatic centre and to a chinese cultural centre that had a mini Tibet there.
Two Tibetan monks thought they would come and have a little chat with me whilst i was minding my own business.
"are you ok there?" they asked and off course I said "yes, I'm fine thx."
"well its just you're sitting there just smiling away at yourself, and its funny to see someone so happy." Any need I'm always happy....life's to short.
Anyway I can't wait to go to the real Tibet and see all the prayer flags etc. I have found an Outdoor Ed trip for school as well Kayaking in Nepal. Can you imagine!!!
Well i'm sure you're all bored now. Off to the local establishment for a few bevvies to celebrate the boys beating the Manx.
