The journey into Beijing was slightly hair raising as my taxi driver opted to take the back roads into the city to Hard Rock Cafe. Over taking with traffic coming towards, closed my eyes a few times to say the least. Nearly took out a pedestrian but she got back on the pavement just in the nick of time. Was relieved to get my beer at hard rock and just sit comfortably for a moment or three

So popped into beijing to wanfurjing food market which is always a sight for soar eyes since the appear to cook anything that moves there. Decided not to sample the offereings as not really into scorpions, starfish, roaches or anything else that had been skewered up the bottoms.

Next stop however was a lot better, Raffles for cocktails. Well I could have gone for the original Singapore one but went for the Peking option instead as it is vodka based whereas the other is gin based and not my favourite.
Seemed we opted for the right time to go as well since it was half price on all cocktails result 6 pounds instead of 12 have to be happy with that and on a school night too.
