Next stop on the summer tour was Chamonix. The 2 glaciers campsite is a great find just 3km outside of chamonix but with great views of Mont Blanc and of course the 2 glaciers. Great pitches, reasonably priced and a small stream running down the side so you can chill any fridge items in without it chasing away down stream. A trip up the Midi is a must even though it swings just a little when it goes over the arms and causes people to vomit there in the gondola....

Epernay is the capital of the Champagne region and has some great scenary. We opted to stay on the only campsite in the area which also sold champagne on site at the small bar. The camping was quite private with individual pitches surrounded by small hedges and quite reasonably price. Giverny is really worth a visit just to see Monet's house, garden and Les Nympheas. The village is very small and quite expensive so opted to stay in a campsite at Les Andely's which was based on a small chateaux and extremely cheap. 12 euros for a tent with 2 people and a car parking space. So i am a little late updating my travels over the summer period. I didn't go as far as initially planned but had a lovely trip that started of with a weekend in London followed by 10 days taking in Amsterdam and the French countryside drinking very nice champagne and wine. So here goes for the first instalment of the next chapter of my life. I'm currently in the airport waiting for a flight to Beijing to start a new teaching job.
