As we have so much work to do and aren't getting time to write we might do a 'week commencing' style blog for a while and only write on Mondays.Today I began to paint the wooden bases of 10 sun beds. It was one of those 'if you want something doing…' moments. Obviously as soon as I'd settled down to enjoy an afternoon in the hot sun wearing my shorts and happily painting I got called away to sort out housekeeping again.Tuesday. After a somewhat stressful morning I returned to the sun bed painting this afternoon and have now done all the tops and all of one side, nice clean looking bright white. Shame about the termites, they seems to come out at night to make holes in my paint work, also they are eating the sun beds form the inside out so thy may just be a pile of sawdust one morning! But is the best we have so we'll make do.Yvonne the laundry woman is due to leave on the first and we can't wait. She is a complete stress nightmare. She is still shouting and screaming all day at the boys to do things for her and yet still appears to be getting nothing done. The washing goes on the line and it certainly is wet but its neither clean, rinsed nor spun. It might be better not to even bother washing the sheets the way they come out. It turns out on the first that she has decided to stay until the 3rd even though she stops working on the 31st . Dinky has succumbed to her bullying and has decided to let her stay but on the condition she works for free. I said this was a bad idea but he just rolled his eyes and said it wasn't worth the rise in his blood pressure to argue. Sadly I was proved correct as after 2 days of screaming more than usual, washing less than usual and Vincent shouting back at her twice until she ran away scared, she decided to take Sunday off. As she still had her room and food this wasn't in order and Dinky threw her and her belongings out unceremoniously into the street. Sadly we'd been out to Paradise bar the night before and missed the fireworks. Now to get some laundry done for the first time in years! Hot water, soap powder properly utilised whitener - and our first loads proved what we had been saying all along - if you wash things properly they actually become cleaner! Although sadly we are now running the laundry.Last Saturday night at paradise we met a cool guy who spoke great English and was a dentist called Dr Doyle. He has all his certificates from America and uses all UK/USA approved techniques. He claims he can remove my metal filling and replace it with a plastic white one in 10 mins and for 500rs - you do the calculation! Maybe I'll take him up on it, after all Caroline did pack us a set of dental needles for local anaesthetic so we can even use 100% clean stuff from the UK.We have a new security guard this week too. Although obviously I'm a big one for disability rights I'm not sure he is really suitable for the job…..he only has one eye, and that one doesn't seem to work too well. He is very friendly and apparently was meant to work in house keeping, which would have been fine, but he seems to have the night guard job for now so we'll have to wait to find out if he's going to be moved as Dinky has gone on annual leave.
