Today I decided to, as Dinky puts it 'kick some ass'. Dinky is an ex wing commander in the Indian RAF and likes things to run well, which he never gets, but he has a good sense of humour about it. I had 20 rooms to prepare and 4 members of staff. They claimed a room took 45mins but I explained to them that that wasn't clean enough for my standards. The boys looked blank, Sandhaya (Sunday) looked resigned and Pryanka (Bianca) looked decidedly furious. I then learned one of the boys was actually the ironing boy so he wouldn't be helping. I grabbed my own scrubber and cloth to a chorus of 'no madam!' (hey Gracie now I'm called madam everyday too!) which I ignored. Vincent came with a couple of his restaurant boys to give me a hand so I set up 3 teams, me and Sunday, Vincent, his 2 boys and Manik and Mr Useless 2 (both are called Mahesh really) with Pryanka and another of Vincent's boys. We then showed them how to get mould off walls, that scrubbing the tiles would make them white again (running a dirty rag over them was their old way and it really wasn't working).
