Now in our new room we decided that we would try cleaning it. Seems an odd idea but we figured that if we could make our room look nice then getting the head of housekeeping job for Nicole would be easy. I had been told the housekeepers spoke English, the didn't. The lady we spoke to seemed to shrink when I spoke to here. She plainly wanted to help but had no idea what I wanted. I asked for cloths and bleach in as many ways as I could. After a while a second person from housekeeping came and translated for her. She took us back to our room and waited. We waited too. I think "lost in translation" is the term to use here. He had no better idea what we wanted than she did, she was waiting for us to give her laundry. Cloths and clothes where too similar to be understood. Finally I wend back to housekeeping and found a "duster", but wasn't allowed any bleach or anything else to clean with. So we ripped the rag in half and started armed with only water and one thing I haven't found here elbow grease. I washed walls and skirting, Nicole did the bathroom and widows, I also removed dead flies and bugs from all the lights and washed the glass covers. After about 4 hours we finished and the room was an acceptable place for us to call home for a few months. We were shattered after all the cleaning and opted for an early night
