The kids woke up at 630am again and after a quick bathroom room I managed to get back to sleep until 830!!!! I finally got out of bed when my coffee was ready - the joys of having no plans! We had a very long drawn out breakfast with the last order given at 10am and then we closed the kitchen and headed into the CBD. We parked in North Cairns and walked along the esplanade while the kids rode their scooters. After an hour or so we returned to the car, grabbed the bathers and spent a few hours at the Lagoon with Nick and I relaxing in the shade while the kids swam. We had a packed lunch there and when we'd had enough we drove to the Botanical Gardens in Edge Hill and had a walk through the rainforest and along by the lake. We eventually walked into town and spent an hour in a café with the kids wanting to be tested on their spelling and maths - I think they've missed school!! We got home around 4pm and everyone was hungry so we had an early dinner. The kids spent the evening playing outside building cubbies around the caravan park using the palm tree fronds that had fallen on the ground all over the place. Eventually they were called in for showers and bed just to give the other residents some peace!!
