I'm not sure if it was me or Tally who was more on the ball over night but there were no accidents in the van!! She still woke up at 530 am wanting to play and sitting with her outside surrounded by mist was freezing while waiting for the others to wake up. As soon as Katharine appeared I left her to it while I warmed up with a hot shower! We had a large breakfast and then packed up the van, hitting the road for 10 o'clock. We had only gone about ten minutes down the road when Tally began to whine and carry on so we took a detour through Woolbrook and found a spot by the river to let her out and have a wee. She was crying wolf but it was a very pretty spot so we stayed for a while until the boys nearly fell in the river throwing rocks. We drove on to Chaffey Dam at Bowling Point Alley, a fabulous camp for $5 a night with plenty of space, drinking water and hot showers. We found a spot with a great view of the water and began setting up while the kids built a fire pit with stones and collected wood for a fire. Cattle roam around freely here and unfortunately we parked very close to a cow pat that Tally found and started to chomp through - not another dog that likes to eat poo!! We spent the afternoon relaxing in the sun and then Nick took the kids for a walk around the lake while I had a nap in the hammock. Everyone, including the dog, came back covered in mud but with lots of wood! We lit the fire and ate dinner around it and sat out until it got too cold. The kids had a very quick shower and dived into bed with a hottie. Nick lay on the bed with the boys and fell asleep too so Katharine and I sat up together and read for a while before we went to bed too!
