Kya Travels
When the alarm went off today at 4:30, it felt like I'd only just gotten to sleep, so tired and groggy we got up, finished packing and headed downstairs to check out. We walked down to the bus station where the security let me into the bathrooms without paying the 30p fee, so I could wash my eyes out (eczema has been wreaking havoc with my eyes lately!) then we got in line and jumped on the bus, where we got a seat at the very front of the top deck and settled in for our 10 hour trip to London. Yay... What made it worse was we soon discovered there were no breaks, and we had no food apart from a few apples and a little bit of chocolate, and only a very small bottle of water! The first four hours went by very quickly, as we slept the whole time, then we spent time on the wifi, blogging and listening to music as we continued across the country. It was so boring, but the good news is that its our last travel day before the big plane ride home! It's so close now! It doesn't really feel real. Kind of like how before the holiday it didn't feel real that we were leaving, now it doesn't feel real that we're going home. But I'm ready, so its ok. So eventually we finally arrived in London, and after pointing out every food place we passed to each other, we pulled up in Victoria coach station, then walked across the street to the tube station where we sat down in the food court and got a footling subway each! We were so hungry! After we ate, we jumped on a tube and headed out to Wimbledon Park. We walked down the street and went down to a pub called Woodmans, after trying to get money out at a few ATMs that either didn't work or wanted to charge us for the transaction, then we got a drink and sat down, exhausted, at a table there to wait for Hinn to arrive. After about an hour, Hinn arrived and we had a drink together before heading back up the road to his place where we'd be staying for our final two nights. We dropped off our things and chilled out there and had a chat for a bit before getting ready to head out again. We headed out and back to the tube, stopping by the pharmacy for some hydrocortisone cream for my face, then topped up our Oyster cards before jumping on the tube and making our way to Liverpool st Station. We walked down the street and went to the Breakfast Club, where we would be meeting Jess (who wasn't there yet) and waited in the line at the door. Darren went to the front of the line for a look, and found there was a booking for 6 for Jessica, so we went in and sat at a table of four, as her friends weren't coming anymore. We waited around for ages for her, and had a drink while we waited, then eventually decided to give her a call. And she was lost! So Londoner Hinn went for a walk to rescue her then they came back and we have her a bit of a clap! We ordered some absolutely amazing burritos for dinner, which may have been the best burritos in existence, and had a chat. There was a pub/cocktail bar connected to this restaurant, called the Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town, which had its entrance through a retro fridge door, and its not a bar you can just enter, but you had to ask to see the mayor, then be let in by staff. We tried to get in, but they had no room for an hour, so we decided just to head somewhere else. Hinn led us around some streets to a bar that he liked, which looked very nice, with comfortable looking armchairs all around the place. We got a drink and headed out to the beer garden to drink and chat. The beer garden was full of people, despite the cold and on-and-off rain. Back home in winter a place like this would have no one outside! And it's way colder here! So after just one drink here, we called it a night and headed back to Liverpool St. Station, where we said bye to Jess and headed back home. We said hi to Hinn's housemates, Charlie and her boyfriend Jeremy, then chilled and chatted to them in the lounge for a while, until they went off to bed. Then we set up the air mattress (which was blown up automatically! Bonus!) made up our bed, then said goodnight to Hinn and went to sleep.
