Kya Travels
I woke up a little earlier this morning for a Skype session with Tiana for her birthday, so I set up in the kitchen and waited for her to come online. I used the Internet for an hour while I waited, then when she came online I said happy birthday and chatted to her for ages. When Darren woke up he said hello as well, and Tamu said hi when he woke up as well. After chatting for about 2 hours, I finally said goodbye, then went to get ready. When we were all ready to head off, the three of us headed down to the train station and got a train and tube into the city, getting off at Oxford Circus where we met one of Tamu's friends, Alex. We all walked together through Soho and wandered around a few streets getting lost trying to find a place called Byron. Eventually we found the right street and went in for some delicious burgers and a beer each. They were huge and so tasty! We went to a pub afterwards where we got another beer and had a chat, then we went out to find Soho Square, to find a place that Tamu and Alex both knew and liked. They got lost again so we ended up just going to a pub that said Happy Hour out the front. That's always a good sign! From there we decided we would do a few more stops on the monopoly board, so we headed off to Marlborough street which was close by. On the way we stopped at an ice cream shop where Darren and I shared a cone and we all got a delicious macaroon each. Yum! And the ice cream looked like a flower! Pretty AND tasty! So we went down to Marlborough street and to O'Neill's for another beer and a chat and after struggling to get a table watched a guy who was sitting by himself on a big table in a spotlight, who we think had been stood up. We assumed that anyway, as he had a bottle of wine and two glasses, and was always looking around. Poor guy! I hope she (or he) turned up after we left! When we left we went down to Bond Street, where my app told us to go to The Bonds, but when we walked past it, it looked way too fancy for us, and was filled with people dressed up to the nines, so we went to the pub across the road instead which looked a bit more our scene. It was also decorated very prettily with Christmas lights and decorations. After a beer here, we went to Oxford Street and to the Spread Eagle for another beer and a chat. We ended up chatting to a girl there who said she was a witch, Sara, who was from Milan and was really nice. When she left it was a little bit creepy as she picked up her bags, which were from the Disney Store, and earlier that day the four of us had coined a phrase "proper Disney" for something really cool... Maybe she was a real witch after all... After this pub Alex had to head off, so we said goodbye to her, then after Tamu picked up some maccas we headed back to the tube and made our way back home. We stopped at the Chicken Shop around the corner from the flat where Darren and I got some food, then we picked up a beer each and went home to eat and drink in the kitchen. Tamu went to bed after that, and although we were both tired as well, we headed back out and went down to the supermarket to pick up some ingredients for a cooked breakfast in the morning for Saumya, Graham and Tamu, as a surprise thank you for having us. We got our supplies then went back to the flat and headed to bed.
